The Story
Dulces Colibri
Dulces Colibri (Translates to Hummingbird brand Sweets) has an extensive history that dates back to the late 90's when the company's founders realized that there was a lack of high-quality artisan made Mexican candy in Los Angeles at the time. Having worked as traditional candy artisans in Puebla, Mexico for over 20 years, they decided to employ those skills here in the US and Mexican candy started to be made in the Viramontes' household kitchen. The dream of becoming entrepreneurs began with products like tamarind candy, coconut candy, dulce de leche, etc. Throughout the years the company started to cater to the taste of the diverse Angelino community. Some products were discontinued while new ones were created. One such product that was created and became the company's flagship item was the Mango Enchilado (Present day Mango Colibri) which consists of dehydrated mango slices coated with a sweet & sour layer and topped off with the signature Colibri spice blend. The end result?... The perfect sweet, sour & spicy fusion.... After this great acceptance, new flavors began to roll out. Flavors like Mango Chamoy, a spicier version of the original flavor. Mango Tamarindo, the least spicy of all consisting of a Tamarindo flavored spice blend. Lastly, the Mango Pica-Chamoy, the spiciest of all which incorporates crushed peppers to the Mango Chamoy, adding a powerful spicy kick. With these four flavors, Dulces Colibri acquired a great reputation amongst mango snack enthusiasts. GUMMY CHAMOY is the newest flagship product line which consists of different types of gummies coated in a sweet & sour layer and topped off with a chamoy flavored spice blend with a hint of lime. All dry and mess-free for a more enjoyable customer experience.
